This is the story of Baby Jonah...
Jonah was Welcomed into the world with open arms on March 13th, 2012. This beautiful baby boy weighed in at 6lbs 2oz. To their surprise, his Mom & Dad found out quickly that he was born with a cleft palate (which is not painful nor visible). They thought this was the reason he had trouble eating. (This is all being corrected slowly with a special bottle and surgery when he gets a bit older)....but that's not all. His pediatrician thought she heard an""inconsequential heart murmor" and was refered to MUSC's pediatric cardiologist a week after he was born. They were told that day that his little heart was only functioning by the use of his left heart ventricle. Jonah was immediately admitted into MUSC for more extensive help!
As of today Jonah has had to have a feeding tube to gain weight in hopes of staying within his "percentile weight". The doctors had reported that there are 4 issues with his heart and will have to undergo a series of surgeries. The first surgery took place on March 30th. His second surgery will occur around 4-6 months of age. His final surgery should occur between 2 and 4 years of age.
So, this is the first chapter of Jonah's Story! Baby Jonah is a True Miracle! And…if you know the story of Jonah and the whale...this is Jonah's whale! He is a true testament of our faith in God and his Will!
I am asking all of you out there if your reading Jonah's Story to...

ReplyDeleteDear baby Jonah,
ReplyDeleteYou, Mom, Dad, and Lily have been constantly in our thoughts and prayers. Your name bracelet is on my left wrist and Michael's, too. Jonah, there are so many people, near and far, who are praying for you, your family and medical team. You are a special little fellow and I look forward to meeting you when in Charleston later this week.
Love from all of us,
The Stalb family
The prayers and support that we have received is overwhelming! I cannot begin to explain our appreciation for all that you are doing. We pray that Jonah will be a living testimony to the power of prayer and faith (Proverbs 3:5). Also, the musicians tonight were pretty cool because of the driving force behind their ministry. Thanks again, we cannot wait for you guys to meet him.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless,
Jonah's Dad (aka Linn)
