Jonah just finished his echo-cardiogram. The doctors are waiting on the results to come up with a game plan.....we might not know the surgery date yet. He actually dropped weight the past two days...

Praise!!! Jonah's IV was leaking.....why is that good? Because they were able to take it out, and the Doctor doesn't feel it is necessary to replace it right now. He is so happy he can bend his arm now! :)

UPDATE:

Jonah's surgeon was extremely nice. He stated that he will close Jonah's PDA, and then watch him. We will see how he does once that is closed.....he might possibly need another surgery a few days later, but will see how his oxygen levels are. God has his hands on this surgeon....I just know it!

For those of you who are wondering what a PDA is...read on...
Patent Ductus Arteriosis (PDA)
An unclosed hole in the aorta.
Before a baby is born, the fetus's blood does not need to go to the lungs to get oxygenated. The ductus arteriosis is a hole that allows the blood to skip the circulation to the lungs. However, when the baby is born, the blood must receive oxygen in the lungs and this hole is supposed to close. If the ductus arteriosis is still open (or patent) the blood may skip this necessary step of circulation. The open hole is called the patent ductus arteriosis.

Today is the big day...Jonah's surgery is at 11am! Jonah needs all of your Prayers today!
Jonah's heart condition happens to be rare, they have seen many children with all of his heart problems, but not all together in one child! If you go to http://www.pted.org/ and  "click" ANATOMY & ANOMALITIES (TOP LEFT BOX) -Or "click" on the names to look at Jonah's heart conditions... #33 Patent Ductus Arteriosus and #8 Bicuspid Aortic Valve, these are the two issues the surgen will address today.

Later in time the surgens will address #6 Atrioventricular Septal Defect, Complete in the second surgery and #40 Single Ventricle in his third surgery.

Jonah, his parents - Linn and Amy and his team of doctors, surgens and nurses need all of your prayers at this delicate time! Please take some time today at 11am and pray for them! I know that all of our prayers will be heard! God bless, and I will keep you posted on his progress once he is out of surgery!
IN HIM ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!!

JONAH IS DOING GREAT!! My family said he looks really good! The Surgen was able to close Jonah's PDA and not have to do anything else! He is on a ventilator while they monitor his blood oxygen levels. They should be removing Jonah from the ventilator either tonight or tomorrow morning!
Thank you again for all of your prayers!! I'll keep you updated on his progress...

Jonah is doing great. He will hopefully come off the breathing tube later today. The fluid around his lungs is much better. He will more than likely have to stay on medication after this surgery to reduce the fluid around his lungs...however it is nothing compared to his lungs prior to surgery. Thank you Dona. Russell. Billy. Charlene. Betty and Jane for coming yesterday. Big thanks to Gigi for her amazing help with Lily. Thanks to my mom and dad for their support during this time. Thanks to friends, family and others for your prayers. Most of all...thanks to an amazing GOD that is an amazing physician.

Jonah had his breathing tube removed today and he is now breathing on his own with a little oxygen to help him along. Jonah is stable. Blood gas stats are good. Keep praying that this will continue.
